The Berlin Wall

"Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down this Wall!! "

and so they did!

Well..... it didn't actually work out exactly that way, but it is down; and all through the city, you see these plaques that tell you where it once stood.

It was put up in August 1961 and came down in 1989.

I was walking to work the other day and Heike, the woman I work with said, oh yeah, the wall used to be here.. like it was no big deal that we were walking on, what once was the dead zone between the 2 walls. It is litterally a walk in the park here in Prenzlauerberg. (a neighborhood of Berlin)
