My new life in BR

This is my new apartment. I live on the second floor. I have SOOOO much room!

This is the Ground plan--
2 bedrooms, so plenty of room for Guests!!

This is one of 2 pools we have at the Apartment Complex-- this is the one close to me. It's so nice to take a dip after a crazy day at work!!

And this is my CUTE new (new to me) Car!!

This is where I work-- my office is the one right over the front door!!
231 Hatcher.

Things are going well, I am moved in (mostly.) Classes started on Monday. I am teaching Costume Design I; Costume Design II and Theatrical Makeup and Hair. Currently, I am mentoring 3 student designers on the upcoming shows. I'll start designing my first show for Swine Palace- the professional theatre on campus- soon. We are doing "Satellites," which opens at the beginning of next season.
In the mean time, I am designing "Orfeo et Euredice" for the Opera Department.
I ordered Book Cases from "Crate and Barrell"-- thanks again to all who contributed to my going away gift; it is MUCH appreciated.
I'll try to post more often, I have thought about you all often, but I can't begin to describe the amount of meetings I was required to attend last week!!
Missing you all..
and for those of you who took the poll-
the answer is 11 states!!
New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania; Maryland (for less than an hour); West Virginnia (also for a short time) Virginnia; Tennessee; Georgia (for exactly 20 minutes!) Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana!

Baton Rouge here I come

Sunday Aug 10th
Off to New Orleans for the Afternoon- a little break from the move. My parents spent their honeymoon there 47 years ago!!

We had Beignets (the local donut) and took a carriage ride around the French Quarter, then drove around the garden district taking in the sights.

Saturday Aug 9th
More Unpacking! plus a little sighseeing. I took my parents to see the campus and Mike the tiger who has his own enclosure by the football stadium.

Here is the "tower" on Campus-- not quite like the one at TEXAS.

Mike taking a swim in the HEAT!

We then went out to sample some local cuisine- Fried Dill Pickles!! and Crawfish. (I liked the Crawfish better!!)

Here's my dad eating one!

Friday Aug 8th
Move in Day!! Hired Movers to un pack the truck and move into my HUGE Apartment. I didn't realize how small my apartment was until I moved in here-- HUGE!
My Parents arrived with my new car and helped me unpack- They were a huge help.

Thursday Aug 7th
More Driving, and Driving and Driving!!
Arrived in Baton Rouge at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday Aug 6th
Drove 13 hours today-- here are some of the sights!!

Clara finally found a place in the cab-- behind my seat!!

Or maybe she just wanted the wine!!

Quiz-- how many states did I go thru? Can you name them?? (hint-- 3 states I was in for 30 minutes or less!!)

Tues Aug 5th.

The Packers/Movers arrived and skillfully put all my boxes and furniture into the 16 foot Penske truck!! It all JUST fit (I have too much stuff!!) Thanks to Joe for coming by and giving me moral support and running to the hardware store!! Thanks to Taryn and Ryan for coming to say good-bye and for taking the last batch to the Salvation army!! (I keep trying to pare down!!)

Then I was off-- driving the truck on the BQE at 5 p.m. with a crying cat was a little nerve racking but we made it!!

Good Bye 190 Prospect Place!!

Monday Aug 4th
